Obituary

Erna Marx Simon, 107, formerly of Highland Park, Illinois and Columbus, Ohio. Erna left Nazi Germany in 1937, beloved wife of the late Walter Simon; loving mother of Helga Simon Eisen Bagan (the late Dr. Jesse Eisen and the late Bernard Bagan) and Evelyn Simon Teres (Dr. Daniel Teres); cherished Omi of Marni (Steven) Lewis, David (Laura) Eisen, Rishona (Marc) Steinberg, Jeremy (Alison) Teres, Ilana (Keith) Molkner and Lorin (Rob) Belcher; adored great grandmother of Jessica Lewis Singer (Craig), Lindsay Lewis Grant (Adam), Jacquelyn and Sari Eisen, Samantha and Zachary Steinberg, Nathaniel and Annabel Teres, Gideon, Gabriel and Kayla Molkner and Rowan and Grayson Belcher; dear sister of the late Lilo Haas; devoted aunt of Dr. Larry Haas and Judy Abramson; treasured friend of many. Erna was lovingly cared for by Vilma Abanes and Cynthia Sienes. Chapel service Monday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Dear Family,

I am saddened to learn of the loss of dear Erna. Always impeccable, confident yet humble, warm yet knew what she wanted and clear, she was certainly one of my favorite patients and people. I will never forget her singing Rock of Ages in Hebrew as we sat and lit the Hanukkah candles in my office not more than 4 years ago. May her memory be for a blessing.
